is there any difference between a 50$ short shifter and say a skunk 2 $220 one or is it just the name because i have this no name one but i dont know if i should install it or purchase 220$ skunk2 one or a good name brand.... is it just the name or is it actaul quality you pay for

Try searching as this topic has been discussed numerous times. The main difference is in the materials they are made from. A no-name SS will usually be made from aluminum and a Skunk2 is steel and has sealed bearings.

you'll notice the diff when the $50 one snaps when trying to shift. get a b&m one, good shifter and a good price.

If your snapping shifters, you much be hercules or your shifting WAY too hard....all ya gotta do is flick it....lol.

I have been through 3 different aftermarket short shifters with the first one been the no name brand. There was no problem with it, didn't snap or anything. But the bushing wasn't as up to par as the latter two I have used.
