Difference between SUS 304 and T 304 Stainless Exhaust

HalO!

I am looking at exhaust right now and noticed that some company uses SUS 304 steel on their exhaust, while others use T 304 steel.

Does anyone know what is the difference between the 2 types of steel?

Which one would last longer?

Which one would sound nicer?

Which one would look nicer?

Thanks!

304 refers to the grade of the steel, dont know about SUS or T

dont know which will last longer, probably around the same
sound should be the same
looks are subjective and i dont know if the types of steel look different

i wouldnt take SUS304 vs T304 into consideration when looking at exhausts

sorry couldnt be of more help

Thanks Dave! Did some research and found the following, might be useful to other people on TCC:

T304 (or type 304) and SUS304 are the same. T304 is the american term, SUS304 is the japanese JIS term. it's also known as 304S31 in brittain and X5CrNi18-10 throughout the rest of europe. its the standard 18/8 stainless. basically, it is a combo of 18% chromium and 8% nickel and 0.08% carbon. the chromium is used for corosion resistance. T304/SUS304 is most commonly used in the american market because it's a cheaper material. it's also the easiest to work with as far as rolling, forming and welding. it's also the same grade used in kitchen ware like sauce pans and what not (actually thats a deep draw quality, so you may see a T304DDQ stamped somewhere). there is also a T304L, which is the same, minus a lower carbon content (.03% carbon). the main use of the 304L is manufacturing reasons.
