decent header for b16a 4-1 or 4-2-1?
Hi guys, I'm wondering about a header for a b16 2nd gen. Is the 4-1 too peaky for a daily driver/track car? should I go with a 4-2-1? considering equal quality. Or should I just stay with the stock SIR manifold? Thanks

actually, 4-1 would make some nice top-end power... honestly, look into the vibrant j-spec... ask zeeman, he uses them and loves them... they are somewhat in between a 4-2-1 and a 4-1... the pipe turns from 4 to 2 after the first bend and then the 2 pipes turn into 1 and then it has a 2.5" collector..

IMO just grab something cheap, DC or Vibrant as the gains are not very impressive. Unless you are building a NA setup it wont make too much difference....
In all realisticness and being generous
a DC might make 5 whp and a Toda 6-8 whp is an extra $800 worth 1-3whp?

well any header with a 2.5" collector you will have to get a cat with a 2.5" inlet, or some sort of reducer (i think vibrant sells one) so that it fits into the factory cat.
The vibrant j-spec is a great header for the price. But don't expect huge gains, unless you spent $1200 US on a custom one, but still you'll need a free flowing (at least 2.25" preferrably 2.5") exhaust.
