DC2 and EH2 chassises

ok I have an EG civic (EH2 is the chassis code on my hatches vin)

are the DC2 chassis mount locations the same for that chassis and the EH2???

because if so... well this calls for a PULOVR style scroll down post

wow

imported_eth0r 09-Sep-2003 12:27 AM

 thats crazy..but isnt that tranny sitting on the right side?

imported_gatherer 09-Sep-2003 01:54 AM

evrything is correctly mounted for the K series engine (which sits on the other side of the engine bay) and it's mounted in a DC2 chassis (94 to 00 teg) my question is are the mounting points on the chassis' the same... because if so that will be the swap I do..... it is crazy though

imported_BoOsTd 09-Sep-2003 06:16 AM

now thats a crazy ass swap...almost 1,400 for the mount kit!! I guess If your spending that kind of dough on a K20 another 1,400 is nothin...lol ...Whats the weight like on one of those?? are they heavier than an h22?

imported_gatherer 09-Sep-2003 08:23 AM

they are 20 pounds lighter (including mount kit) then a B series engine.

anyways does anyone know if the mount location points on the chassises are the same or not?

bbarbulo 09-Sep-2003 08:49 AM

Yes, they are the same

imported_gatherer 09-Sep-2003 02:34 PM

thank you Bruno.... muahahahaahahahahaaha I have got a plan for my car now...

bbarbulo 09-Sep-2003 03:02 PM

well, if you read up... you can use most of the mounts from a teg right in the civic platform for any b-series swap, which means the chassis side is the same, it's the engine side that differes between D and B blocks. If anything... very minor mods will be needed. But I imagine they'll release a kit for the 5th and 6th gens too.

that will be great by the time I'm ready to buy it should be out

bbarbulo 09-Sep-2003 03:19 PM

if I were you, I'd wait for some time so someone else tests the alignment of the kit... cuz all these new kits will have kinks, and guys will blow axles left and right until they get it worked out. It takes a long time to get the motor into factory-like position inside a new platform.

:nods:

punkindrublic 09-Sep-2003 03:31 PM

if i have some cash to burn next year i was thinking of doing that too... only i make hte mounts..... that would take forever though... probably two weeks but i could align the motor perfectly too

bbarbulo 09-Sep-2003 03:37 PM

how would you align the motor perfectly when you have no idea how it sits in the DC5 platform? and what axles could you possibly use?

all good questions i would answer then :p

if i had a access to a machine shop i could make new axles so they'd be the perfect length too

punkindrublic 09-Sep-2003 03:41 PM

i dont even think that kit on that site has axles for it yet... wonder what your supposed to use now??

imported_gatherer 09-Sep-2003 03:42 PM

well next year is out of the question I have to wait till more RSX type S's crash and reduce the price of the engine and tranny and stuff

imported_eth0r 09-Sep-2003 03:42 PM
