Dart engine blocks

Well all this talk about boost is starting to make my wallet itch and forgetting about the skyline gt-r idea.

My question is anyone have any experience with the honda dart engine blocks? Dart link I figured for about $2.5K US it should be very high end quality.
Plus it would be perfect for high boost applications.

it's a great block. what do you need it for? application?

many ppl have made 400+ horsepower on sleeved blocks... unless you are drag racing, I don't see the need for a Dart block. also don't forget the dart block is a BARE block, casting only. you still need to fill it with goodies and all that... well over $10K in the block alone by the time you're done with it, esp if you are trying to push the limits of the dart block. then you still need another five grand for the turbo setup.

Just get a benson sleeved block or even a GE sleeved block there only around $1K...again bare block. but will support well over 400whp

this is making me tempted to boost my civic lol so tempting all this talk

^^ ahmen, but i also love my "rice machine too" lol, no matter how rice people may think it is i love it! hahaha same guys who hate have stock cars claiming "jdm" cause they cant afford to mod it and im not talking exterior only, im talking d15's too lol..

imported_starboy869 17-Feb-2007 06:52 AM

claiming and being JDM are two different things.

I was thinking the donor vehicle of my possible engine build would be an 90 / 91 CRX RHD with a glass top. However I have to find a shell/car quick. Transport Canada is changing the import rule back to 25 yrs old instead of 15.

i have done a couple of dart blocks...they are totaly "unfinished". meaning you need to bore and fit the pistons, debur every single area of the block, resurface etc...we did have a problem with a couple of them, the oil gallery plugs were not sealing properly..steel pipe thread plugs into a straight thread hole...brutal. endyn found a pin hole in the sleeve in his own personal block after he had it fully built and running on the dyno. Endyn dart block otherwise they are stout units for sure, but alot of work needs to be done before they are usable.

JRP actually sells the Dart blocks for a reasonable price. $2500 I was told.

Beats getting it from the states etc...

Why not check out golden eagle, ERL, or even AEBS?

Golden eagle sleeved block them including the core would cost you roughly $1800 shipped USD and thats coming bored and honed, decked etc...

just make sure you buy fuel injectors that fit, off of people on here......

dont want to completely halt your engine build in progress because of some dishonesty.
