damn tranny

damn tranny

hey guys im trying to take my tranny off so i can take the clutch out and the motor is out of the car by the way ive taken the bolts to the starter out and the 3 other engine/tranny bolts as well as one of the bolts on the flywheel is there any other im missing it just wont seem to come off

there might be a bracket at the front and back (underneath) holding them together, as well there should be a bolt that goes through from the engine side into the tranny near the rear mount. also make sure you have your dust cover at the bottom off.

how did you get one of the bolts out of the flywheel if the tranny is still on the engine?

i got the flywheel cover bolt on and i got the 17mm bolt that goes from the back of the tranny but im having a hard time getting the dust/flywheel cover off when i go to take the bolt out its hitting the catalytic converter.

so take the cat off. you may need to pry them apart a bit with a pry bar or a big screw driver possibly. the dowel pins might be a little snug and perhaps that is all they are holding up on.

its this bolt right beside the 2 collector pipes on the dp that i cant get off as well do i need this off?

well i figured out whats holding it on its the front and rear tranny bracket but i cant get the pins out becuz its hitting the headers im just going to take them off

UPDATE:took the headers off to the collector pipes and i took the front tranny bracket off and it came off like presto just hit it a couple of time with a rubber mallet.by a couple i mean like 30 lol i snapped one bolt though its the front tranny bracket im just going to go to a machine shop and get it drilled out. anyone have an idea of how much?
