d16y8 valve cover pic
 

anyone have a pic of their d16y8 valve cover, i just put on a new gasket cause i was leaking some oil, and before i took it off i noticed that there was a threaded hole with no screw in it and was just wondering if this should be with out a bolt or what

and i can't find my cam or else i'd take the pic

ya mine is the same, i dunno what the thread is for

are you talking about the one on the top of the cover by where it says honda, or the one down on the lip more by the dipstick?

i'm talking about the one on the lip on the right hand side of the cover

also i stuck a small piece of somehting in there just the feel where it went to and i felt the rubber gasket, so i'm guessing this shouldn't be there and that could be one of the reasons for a leak....maybe?

theres one on the top left corner and one on the bottom right near the dipstick

yeah the one by the dipstick.....and theres nothing in yours either? like its just gasket underneath, just seems wierd to me:shrugs:

On my d16z6 there was never a bolt on the driver side front corner of my valvecover(bottom right in your pic) and it also never leaked oil from there.. I know my friends Y8 was the same way, with no bolt yet no leaks either.

i have the same thing... no bilt... no oil leaks and always bin like that...

ok it's startin to look like this is the same on everyone's engine so that makes me feel better:)

lol i was the same when i first noticed it...
i noticed it after i got my engine bay shampood, and of course i checked it out n i was like umm wtf... why did you take out that one bolt lol

treat it like an optional grounding point..

its the bolt for the throttle cable bracket on a Y7

i have a y7 with a mounted throttle cable, and that hole is still empty
