d16y8 onto d16z6 block question..

for background i have a 93 Si hatch... stock engine... i might look into getting a d16y8 head to shave down and port and polish... i have two questions about this situation

i'm told that a d16z6 distributor wont work on a d16y8 head... so i'm wondering if i get a y8 distributor will that run off a p28 ecu?

and the second and most important is will it actually fit?? bolt placement and coolant lines etc??

i dont actually have the head yet so if it doesn't work its no problem.... i'm just curious...

the head will physically fit, the headgaskets are the same, except for the thickness, go with the y8 gasket, it will yeild more compression...

YOU WILL NEED y7/y8 head bolts though <---A MUST!!!

i dunno about the distributor.

you would need to convert over to obd-2

realistically there is no point, stick with the z6 head and get it p&p and milled 10-20 thousandths...

the y8 head is great for 4g civic or 2g crx owners.

the mounting holes are different between the z6 and y8,

you would somehow have to make a plate to mount up the z6 dizzy to the y8 head.

the y8 head almost has the exact dizzy mounting points as the obd0 dizzy's
