will a stock air intake from a d16y8 work on a d16y7???

I don't think so. A D16Y8 throttle body/intake manifold faces to the side, but the Y7 faces up.

however u can swap the whole manifold with the throttle body etc . . onto a y7

that is why when intakes are sold... one says "for EX/HX" and one says "for LX/DX/CX"
