B series T/B, match the IM to the TB, and smooth out the casting flaws... don't try to get smart with the diegrinder - you take off too much and you've just fuct your IM. On the head side.... well, the head should really be done by Leitner - he has flow benches to test and prove his work. I'm certain you don't have a flow bench, so leave that part to the pros. Have a 3 angle valve job, new valve seals, check all the tolerences and P&P. On the intake runner side, you can match the runners to the size of the gasket if you want, but you want to keep the runners as small, but at smooth as possible. The finish should be a 60 grit paper drum swirl finish to help distribute fuel in the cylinder better. For bang for buck cams - again Leitner has some reground cams that supposedly have a really tough treatment on them so they don't wear like normal regrinds. Or you can do Gude or Comp Cams... that's up to you. Ultimately, none of this will make any difference if you don't have it all tuned correctly.

cost - depending on the options you choose - $400-700 or so. If you have that money, go talk to Leitner and have a plan worked out on how to go about building your motor. Considering your motor will be down, you may wanna consider having it freshened with a new waterpump, oil pump (maybe), new rings and bearings.
