Will my unorthodox racing crank pulley from my y8 fit on a y7?

I'd highly advise againest using that on a d-series your bearings will be done in no time and leading to massive engine failure and about your question yes it will fit.

I beg to differ. I have the entire U/R pulley kit on my 98 1.6 EL. The set was installed Oct.18/01 @ 114700 kms. Since then I have installed a turbo. Now my car has 263 500 kms. No rebuild yet.
My advice, call U/R. I was checking out the website, it doesn't look compatible.

too bad there's no real benefit of using those pulleys. Just more aftermarket junk

but yes it will fit.

there's no benefit of switching to a much lighter crank pulley as to using an oem pulley that supports ac and ps?

Switching to a lighter crank pully will free up horse power, by reducing your reciprocating mass. It works on the same principle as a lightened flywheel, but usually they also reduce the size of the pully aswell for even more gains.

On the flip side, solid aluminum crank pullies can also cause alot of damage to your engine (bearings and oil pump) since they do not have a dampener which is designed to absorb vibrations. I've seen and experienced this first hand.

And yes, the pulley will fit might you will have to change your belts around.
