with that kind of budget, it is damn near impossibly to make a stock d15 quick. I suggest you read up on turbo charged engines if you decide you want to go that route. Do a forum search, this topic has been covered plenty of times. But if you want to add a little more pep just get a tune-up, you'll feel the difference.

save 500-600 more and pick up a b16 swap.i know what it's like to drive a d15b7 car...trust me but always remember don't be in a hurry to go faster. It takes time to do it right and properly. and for those of u wondering how he can get a b16 swap in the 1500 range i see them going for that all the time now.peace

Where? Can you find one for me? I'm looking for something for that price.

yeah maybe just the engine/tranny or obd0. I doubt you can find a b16a2 full swap in good shape for around 1500. Maybe 2000, but not 1500.

building a d series turbo can be quite reliable and quite inexspensive

HF manifold $0-$80
Adapterplate $0-$75
Probe or DsM turbo with downpipe, $50-$200
Cheap stock intercooler $30-$100
Check valves and misc lines and wires $120
BOV 0-100$
Piping(Part source) $120
Connectors $75
Misc other parts $200

as you can see you can have a mid to low 14 sec turbo ef this kind of money
for under 1000 sumtimes, even less (if you get the car for free)

it is quite cheap to do a custom turbo, but I don't think a turbocharged engine is right for every person, especially for somebody who has to ask if it is possible to F/I his d15.

if you are referring to me, I didn't mean to offend you in anyway. IMO turbocharging is the fad nowadays and everybody wants to do it and boosting an engine isn't for everyone, you need to know what you are doing (unless you want to spend a lot of money in shops fixing the little problems).

boost=high maintence

Once again, I didn't mean to offend you and sorry if I made it seem that way.. I was only trying to help by saying maybe it isn't for you.
