dont' waste your time all motor with a 1.5 l you cna't even put p29 pistons in that block cheap

save for boost or nitrous

but if you want get a zex cam build the head get a good header that's about it unless you want to get forged rods pistons

or get a d16a block throw p29 pistons in it and throw your built head on that

its a waste of money and time. To even hit 120whp-130whp you could probably swap an ls/b20 or b16a2 in your car

NA for d series is definately not the way to go. even the hardcore d series lover will admit this. if you're doing a turbo build up the d15 platform is not worth it at all. aftermarket parts for the d16s are much cheaper to buy because nobody supports the d15s. if the d15b is in good shape just boost it on the stock block. when she blows swap a b or build up a d16 on the side.

My opinion begs to differ. To each there own.
Every1 is bashing all motor d's. But not one person asked Alessandro " italian_dream88 " Wut he wanted out of his D series... You can run mid-high 14's with a single without even touching the bottom end. It's called re-search & weight of vechile.
Stock D16z6 hb with i/h/e can run low-mid 15's all day long. ( not gutted/gutted ) I personally ran 15.7 with i/h/axel back muffler and bald tires! ( Driver side tire blew up on way home from cayuga ) With a 94 si coupe. ( Last season when it was stock with just those bolt ons) Do a camshaft, weight reduction, some tunning a full cat back and good tires/suspension.

Newho I'd like to be the 1st to ask Alessandro wut is your goal? 14's? 13's? If you would like to run in the low 14's or 13's n/a is not the way boost or Spray. Stock single vtec on 60 shots and bolt ons have been seen to hit high 13's.

I stick behind single cam's with a passion especially D16z6 and Jdm zc vtec's. If you need any help building your jdm d15b Alex pm me i'll be more then happy to assist you. As I am ongoing building my D series and now have a B series Built. My opinion is D series over B series anyday. I can go on and on about why I say this but I will most likely bore the crap out of u all make the b series fans feel stup%d. I dont in any way wanna start any thread crapping simply telling ppl not to put down the d series and not tell someone what to do b4 asking him his goals etc.
So Alessandro wut is ur goal I ask once again...

Do you have a d15b in a 96 civic? If its the obd2 d15b, you got the 3stage vtec engine. The cam shaft in that is really similar if not the same as a Zex cam. Dont bother changing that.

honestly man... there was a guy selling a turbo for like $800 for d-series... complete... how could you not put that on???

i got my b18c1 for my ek... needed more power like a week after having it... i spend a few months researching... boost owns man... i am going to turbo it for probably the price of your cam and headers and extra for tuning, but i will be making a hell of a lot better numbers than i did before...

built d-series are sick... i ripped the **** out of my d-series and it never died... until it blew on the hwy... but thats another story.

how much power do you want?

mill the head to bump compression.. get a good port and polish job (which can be expensive) get a 3 angle valve job and install a new valvetrain (depends on how much power you want) I know a guy who ran stage 3 crower cams w/ complete valvetrain and he made 150whp I believe. But he used p29 pistons which bumped up the compression to 11.5:1 or 12:1, I forget. And don't forget some arp hardware and of course converting to obd1 and getting it dyno tune to maximize your power.

Perosnally.. all that money spent can go into a boost application and you could be smoking type-r's.. or even a b-swap and build your way up with that.

you wont blow your motor if you maintain it well and get a good tune. Thats of course unless the motor is already falling apart.

Even if you blow your d15.. you can pick up a z6 (another strong motor) for pretty damn cheap.
