d15b 3-stage vtec...

Ok, so i got a obd2 d15b 3-stage vtec. I noticed that the car aint moving right cause its not pulling hard until around 5500rpm when the vtec engages and the car pulls a bit aggressively. Now, the problem is the stage 2 is not working, im using only 12valves upto 5500rpm. I used the ecu, tranny and intake manifold from my d16y8 and i changed the 2 vtec solenoids to the one solenoid from my d16y8. My question is, if i put back the 2 vtec solenoids, would the ecu i have work or do i have to get the ecu that came with this motor? I dont have that ecu, so i would have to get one. Thanks

Or should i leave it the way it is and install a vtec controller? Lol i went to Standard Auto Wreckers and found a Fields Vtec controller and i checked if it works and it does so i might install it.

3 stage vtec is a setup, that is great for cruising, and has good high rpm output as well... it combines the SOHC engine with VTEC-E, has almost the exact same fuel economy as an Echo

Heres a link to what 3 stage vtec is

Sorry i cant help with the intial question thou
