CYP Sensor

hello all

I am getting a error code 9

CYP Sensor (Cylinder)
defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor
* not a valid code for any throttle body injection Hondas
** not a valid code for V-6 engines

anyone know what this is and how to fix it.

PM or email

Thanks

I believe it's 1 of 3 position sensors in the distributor housing.
I think that one is the cylinder position sensor.

Click on this link:
http://www.torontocivics.com/tccforu...elms+OR+haynes
read it, then download the service manual for your car and it should be in the manual in the ignition section how to check/fix your problem.
Hope this helps

This usually (almost always) means your distributor bearings are going. The trigger wheel is wobbling.

Yep.
Take the dist cap off. If there is brown dust in and the cap and everywhere else is time for a new/rebuilt dist assy
