You probably could but I dont think it'd be worth the effort.
I think the EXR puts out about 130hp.
You're better off dropping in a ZC, puts out just as much power (assuming I'm right)
afterall it was made for the car.

And yes I think you have to get new mounts, whereas with the ZC you wouldn't.

The exr puts of 130 hp same as ZC, but has 142 ft/lb torque... the reason im thinking of exr is because i have cheap hookup to one + install... so alls i would need would be possibly tranny and mountning kits..
thanks for your replies

ok, as far as that swap goes, you would be further ahead both financially, and at minds ease to either swap in a some of the B series engines, b18a - 130hp/121 lbs b18b - 140/127 lbs - b20z - 158?/140???

these motors are relatively easy to install using a mount in kit, either by hcp/place racing or HA SPORT.

In the case of the EX/R motor, you will need to :

-FAB UP motor mounts for the motor and transmission
-Convert the shifting mechanism to "cable shift like in h22 swaps"
-Convert transmission to Hydrolic system
-changing over wiring and possibly obd swapping
-beefing up your suspension to take additional weight
-custom axles/ or changing jackshaft

honestly its not worth putting in an 'H' series unless you are only tracking the car for 1/4 mile understeer will be horrible.

A little while back Bisimoto changed over to an F22 instead of the D15 in his CRX. When he did this, he mated the F22 with a D-Series transmission. Most of the weight and hassle is with the H and F series tranny. The F22 is only about 30lbs more than the D, and even looks the same under the hood.
To do it, he fabricated a bellhousing adaptor plate and a custom flywheel to accept the input shaft from the D-series. He mentioned that he would be selling kits...

Go here and do a search.

I believe the EX-R is 160/160. HASport sells swap kits for these.
I would do it. And for the "the-understeer-would-be-horrible" answers, apply some thought to the suspension setup and you will be fine.
