CRX DX questions

I was wondering if the dx is a good base for an engine swap.
It's an 88 with an auto tranny. Also, how hard is it to do a tranny swap?

And can anyone do it for me if i supply the parts?

it's not the preferred base for swaps cuz of the wiring issues, but **** - with a car that old, I'd take anything that didn't have rust holes in the body/chassis.

anything w/o rust is a good base for a project

tranny swap is a little more involved, but if you are already swapping the engine, you'll be so *** deep into parts that it won't even matter what was in there before.

Scott from Club Si has been known to do good work for a price. Also, Altech, RT, and Buddah's shop are all skilled and somewhat competent

"THE BiG 18!!..." - CARLiTO

seeing as how you are likely 18, lemme share a bit of wisdom with you that you'll thank yourself later for... start with the newest car you can afford. **** mods and **** - just buy a solid newer Civic with every penny you have at the moment. Then, as you get older and make more money, you'll have a solid car to work with, and you'll have money to dump into it. Body work is expensive - don't think you can take it on yourself without the proper facilities, or the knowledge of the stuctural integrity of the unibody.

As a CRX owner thats pretty much had the car fixed heres some advice: IF you REALLY want a CRX, wait until you find one in good shape. yes it may be hard and may take a while but you will be happy when you don't have to pay crazy high cash to have it fixed.
As much as I love my CRX, had I had known I would have to fix it all up, I probably wouldn't have gotten it.

CRX's are a love/hate car. But when ya love it, you love it.
IMO unless you are willing to spend lots of cash(unless you know someone that does bodywork) get a newer car.
IF ya really do want a CRX, I would suggest a 90+ Si. 90+ because they have better metal (or so I hear) and Si because it makes wiring easier if you do go down the swap road.

Good luck and when ya do go lookin, take a magnet.
