CRX auto to manual

I'm planning to do an auto to manual on my 88 CRX DX.
What sort of things do i need to look out for, other than just switching the transmission if I'm looking to install a 90 CRX SI tranny?

I've heard a couple people say that the input shaft is different from the 88 to the 90...

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

if you upgrade the flywheel to the 89+ unit, I think you should have no prob... and you can use the bigger 92+ clutch plate.

if u have an 88 and are using an 90 tranny ur gonna have to use an 88 flywheel unless u wanna use hybrid axles (89-91 inners cv's with 88 outter cv's)...unless u also swap hubs for some 89 or newer ones (another reason why 88 civic/crx suck)

ur best bet is to upgrade to newer (89+) drive train stuff...or that car is gonna be a headache for any mechanic or person that works on it/buys it after

http://www.torontocivics.com/tccforu...threadid=48551 this guy says it best!!

i find that the 88 axels are the same on both ends 88's work in 90's and 90's work in 88's if he gets a 89 -91 tranny he can use his old automatic axels since there is no diference betweeen auto and manual axels, second off all he needs to use a newer tranny is a flywheel, clutch !!!!!!!
