Cruise Control failure???

I'm not sure if i'm posting in the right section or not..but has anyone else experienced cruise control failure?

I have a 98 si, and my cruise control does not work on a consistent basis. Sometimes i can press the button a million times...and it won't turn on.

Any ideas what could be allowing this thing to only work sometimes?

i know it is speed sensitive...if your doing under a certain amount it wont come on...i think its 80 km/h in my car

its speed sensitive, also it requires that both of your rear break lights are functional. if you have a burned out rear break lightbulb or an intermittent failure of rear break lights, it will wont work.

those are the simple reasons. other than that your control module might be defective, or you have other wiring problems.

Thanks guys. I never knew it was speed sensative. I'll check about the break lights.

Even at over 100k though, it's intermittent.

I have also had a similar problem. The cruise would shut-off spontaneously. Turned out to be a bad ground wire from the battery, and chassis to tranny. Give yours the once over.
