cruise control.

my cruise control went a few weeks ago, finally got off my ass to change the fuse (figured i blew the fuse when i was turning it on/off a few times to test it)

Changed the fuse, took it for a test drive, no luck. The light went on, on the CC button but when i pressed the set button on the wheel, nothing happened.

So, i checked to see if the fuse was in properly, it is. So i popped the hood, checked the CC, everything lookng fine. I disconnected it, to make sure all the wires/ hoses were intact, tjen i reconnected it properly. (i'll double check tomorrow if it is in properly but i'm 99.9% it is)

So, i'm stumped. Maybe somehow the button on the steering wheel isn't sending the signal properly? I don't see how it would if broke, it was working fine before. Any suggestions will be appreciated. I don't really need CC, but this is bothering me.

thanks guys, btw i have a 98 si.

first off, im going to assume you don't have a vaccum leak, if yes, possibly a line running from the cruise control unit to the back of the intake manifold isn't connected

also check to see if your brake lights are working. i hear if one or both are burnt, cruise wont work

also check the brake and clutch switches on the pedals, if they're not working, cruise won't either.

i also hear its speed sensitive, so make sure you're going at least 80km/h when testing

theres other stuff too, but too tired to keep typing. all this info is already on here so i suggest you search, its there for a reason

I did all the things you said, everything seemed fine.

I'm going to double checked the vacuum line when i get back from work. And i did run a search, nothing useful came up.

everything i posted was found while searching, there is other stuff too.

and if is was a vac. leak, you would know, your idle would be bouncing from 1000 to 2000 rpm. i just assumed it wasn't this cause i would think you would mention it

Having the same problem... I'm still searching so far nothing good or different except for what I found in this post.

Only difference is mine works sometimes if I press the set button enough times on the steering wheel.

same here, mine only works time to time... like 30% of the time.... it doesn't work when i need it the most, it only works when i don't need it but i'm bored to test if its broken or it, then it work... i was going to get a mech to look into this...

if you guys have more updates... keep it posted here =)
