Cracking Kumho V710's
 

I was talking to a customer on Kumho V710 in a 205/50R15 and they had complaints of the tire cracking once mounted and inflated. I spoke Kumho and they advised me that if a customer has this problem they can exchange the tires for a new set.
There was a container of these tires that was exposed to the cold and that's what caused this problem.

It's supposed to be only this one size that is affected

I called them again and was told there is no way to tell which ones in the warehouse are affected until they are inflated, BUT my customer said he saw the cracks as soon as they came off the delivery truck. Keep that in mind when you buy, or look at the tires.

i was reading up on these tires and most of the reviews and even specificationis state these tires are good for an average of one race weekend per use... and then their performance begins to deteriorate rapidly...

yeah, but if they're cracking before you mount them, imagine when you go into a turn at 150+km/h...
