Could someone please help me with my engine :(
okay, i put a d16z6 in my coupe, should have been a fairly simple enough swap right, well rite now i am having a major problem. Once it starts reving past 3000 rpm it becomes very boggy and wont really go any higher then 4000 rpm, does anyone know what could be causing this? I just got rid of all my cel codes... So i dunno what is left to do.
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME:cry: |
oh yeah, its a 93 d16z6 in a 93 civic dx coupe
|
u shoulda let somebody that knows what they are doing install that ish...its damn plug and play man, hook up the vtec and u should be golden...maybe ur timing is off or somethin
|
Sounds like your ECU is in limp mode..you sure your not getting any codes?
It could also be a fuel starvation problem, check your fuel pressure. |
yea guy i thaugh u were an expert :) o il do this 4 ya hahahaha
yea the vtec should be kicking in then and i just had a simular probem but my engin light came on wen my ecu was in limp mode id get 2 the point were the vtec should kick in and it would make the same noise as the rev limitor wooov woov woov and just wilnot let u get any higher :) try geting it scanned or swap the ecu out try that it should be giveing u acode and its not wel thats what i have lurned from my resent problem mide was the timeing and the bolts were loose so as soon as the motor got reving high i was loosing spark in 2 pistons :) so i just moved it alittle and tightened it all up and boom all good :) i have a fuel filter if u need one $40 |

are you sure the enigne is good??, timing wouldnt cause that problem
|
back to basic like check the dist. timihg, cam and crank timing.
|
shoulda just had scott newman do the install for ya kieran:P. Best thing to is just start checking the basics. U have a manual, start using it.
|
yeah yeah yeah, but asking for help on tcc isnt the wrong thing to do... Why research if i can get help on tcc? and i am gonna check the timing today
|
well u should research before u start asking questions. Im sure u will figure it out, just do some searches around the NET and im sure u will find the answer to ur problem.

So no codes? Is the ECU a stock P28?
Are you saying that if you floor the throttle, the engine only gets up to 4000 rpm? Does react just like if you were bouncing off the rev limiter, or ...? This Engine you installed, did you get it complete and just throw it in, or did you change anything before putting it in? |
i had codes but got rid of them all. It does not feel like a rev limiter at all becasue if i press the pedal slowly it will reach up to 5000.
this engine was just the engine pretty much, i used my old d16z6 and swapped the tranny, dizzy, and a few of the sensors from my old engine. |
oh yeah and the wiring harness and throttle body
