ok....... i have a 89 si and it has this problem, there is so much pressure in the cooling system that it boils over into the resreve and it doesn't go down throw the rad....................would the head be crack?

blk93si 02-Aug-2003 05:28 PM

yup headgasket , or crappy thermostat or rad cap

one of my cars was doing that , shooting out air through the rad cap and reserve tank , it only did it when it warmed up

it was my headgasket

Does the car overheat and does the reservoir overflow? Have you checked the rad cap and had a pressure test done?

Does your rad pull any of the coolant back?

gooseshit 07-Aug-2003 12:08 AM

it was my head gasket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......................thank s

That's probably why the guy sold it to ya..Don't worry, it's not a really hard job to do. Just make sure you know how to rotate the engine to TDC. While you're at it, check the timing belt, and replace it as well if it shows wear.

Peace bro..
