coolant leak...

i notice today that there's coolant dripping from right under my radiator. My radiator is kinda beat up too so maybe this is the problem. there's coolant dripping along the black guard of hte bumper right underneath the radiator. Just wondering if anything else may be the problem in this case or jsut need a new rad.

probably need a new rad... if you have a torch you could braze the openings... but you should just get a new one

Don't use any leak-fix crap... NOTHING you put in your coolant to stop leaks can poosibly be any good for your block. Remember that coolant flows THROUGH YOUR ENGINE, so if you think clogging water passages in your engine is a good idea... be my guest.

I spent a week reverse flushing my Saturn sys over and over cuz the prev owner thought leak-fix was a good idea Luckily, the car came into my hands and is now tip-top.

lol, honestly dont flame me for this backyard hickstuff, but once, when i was in T.O. my rad started leaking, and it was late, so, I bought some eggs and put them in....it boils the egg white, and sticks to the rad where it leaks!

but, its not a good idea, because this stuff does run through the engine block, waterpump, and all the heater core/lines and will clog it up and leave resude over time!

red90dx, that's the funniest post yet

I got stuck in the states once, a rad hose blew.... I'd floor it to 150, then shut it off and cost to air cool that puppy... needless to say, I blew the head gasket. The car was turbo too but a tiny turbo... whole thing went to the junk yard for $40. POS
