Unhappy Coolant Leak!

Hi all,

I drive a 94 CX HB.
Ever since my car got towed, I've noticed that my coolant overflow bottle empties!

There is a leak somewhere, that I can't isolate by eyesight. I know it's somewhere on the driver side of the engine because that's where the stain is on the pavement. It looks like the puddle is underneath the alternator or somewhere around there.

I commute to work everyday, about a 36KM trip one-way.
The I regularily refill the coolant, but even if I don't refill the coolant, the coolant temp needle never goes more than half way.

If I look take off the radiator cap, it looks full of coolant.

Can anyone give me advice?
What is likely the source of my leak?
How can I repair it ??

same problem happened to my friends car. Coolant overflow bottle was empty but there were still some coolant left in the radiator. Not sure the exact problem but what you can do is go to CT and buy a bottle coolant sealer and dump it in your radiator and then top it up. Try this and it migth solve the problem. It only cost $4-$5 so it's worth a try.

hey dude...
I did some internet research.
All the posts that I've ever read about using coolant sealants is bad. Did it solve your friend's problem(s)?
I'm wary about putting that stuff in my radiators.

Can anyone tell me if that stuff is alright to use?

waterpump is leaking or sweating - you probably need a new waterpump

Re: Re: Coolant Leak!

Oh shoot!

Is there a way I can make sure that it's my water pump that is doing all the leaking?

Is replacing the water pump as easy as replacing the alternator?
I was able to replace my alternator before with hand tools...
