control arms?????

do you by chance mean strut braces? (ties the 2 struts together at the top)

newbie@work 14-Apr-2007 01:05 AM

i meant, lower control arms, for the front and rear of the car

imported_kickz 14-Apr-2007 08:20 AM

control arms will not help the bumpyness of t he car
your shocks are probably blown ..

newbie@work 14-Apr-2007 08:34 AM

nah, the shocks aren't blown i know how that feels, besides the shocks are only a month old. so what exactly will lower control arms do ?

moto_spritz 14-Apr-2007 08:51 AM

Well, control arms... doen'st really do much, it's just a connection
between the chassis and the strut pretty much... and allows the
spring action to happen without the wheel going all over the places.

When the bushings are done, you'll either
a) hear clunking noises,
b) car will swirve upon accel/deceleration

depends on which one of the bushings are done...

Bumpy ride could be caused by spring being too compressed?

hrmm..what size rims and tires???...17s?

newbie@work 14-Apr-2007 01:16 PM

i'm only running on stock, 185/65/14

the LCAs cannot affect the ride quality. lighter components merely reduce weight and therefore increase repsonsiveness... but don't affect quality.

ride quality has to do with the weight of the car, the tire sidewall, the wheelbase, the track width, spring rates, shock dampening and rebound settings...
