Hi guys what are your thoughts, on switching to synthetic when an engine has high km's and has been run with reg oil for 290 k?? The engine runs perfectly, and I'm going to solo it, so i'd like to run synthetic, but I don't want to create leaks. I've switched to synthetic on a car thats three years older, but with only 200K and it was fine. What are your thoughts.

it's always a gamble... and either way witch to synthetic and where ever it leaks replace the gasket! sometimes it doesnht' leak at all....
but my buick for example i KNOW it has leaks already i've fixed one but when i do the valve cover gaskets then i will switch to synth...

like modfather said, it's unknown. could go either way, and you could start burning oil too.

yeah, use conventional and change it before every race weekend.
