Cold air intake Issues

hey guys I've got a 96 cx hatch just put an aem cold Air Intake in I got it for $80

I put it in a week later I get and engine light i checked the cold and it came back code 45

running to rich or lean there are no other mods stock exhaust, stock everything else

it's the factory d16y7 in it it's an automatic It has also started to idle rough ever since i put the intake in.

(I can't get enough of Wot lol)

I changed the filter and put an aem one on I had a ractive one before the code went away for about a week or 2

Does this mean i need to get a tune lol I was reading in here that if I take the battery off then put it back on and let the car idle with the intake it'll learn itself again or something like that

could use some help don't wanna run lean and then pop

you dont need a tune, im taking it its obd2..well if so when you removed your stock intake there should have been a sensor plug. If your CAI didnt come with this thats probably why you are runnign rich or whatnot.

Check for vacuum hoses that maybe didn't get hooked up when you did the installation...there could also be an extra nipple in the intake pipe for other models of vehicle that that perticular itake kit was made for...for my car the short ram intake kit I installed had an extra redundant nipple and I had to put a short piece of vacuum hose on it and plug it. You may have to do the same. You definately don't need a tune. Cold air intakes do not change the way the engine runs enough to need a tune. The only time you'll need a tune is if you instal cams or turbo etc...

Lots of different intake kits whistle at different rpms/throttle positions....that's normal. Mine whistles at part throttle all the time.
