cold air intake/injectors

i want to put a cold air intake on my B16a but a mechanic told me that it would be pointless and i actually could lose power if i dunt upgrade my fuel injectors.. is this true.. i twas under the impression that a cai was bolt on "power" and since i'm on the topic of injectors.. would stock integra type r injectors be alright with a B16a.. would i need any mods to computer or n e thing...

how long have you known this mechanic? what does he specialize in or is he just a grease monkey?

I have never heard of needing injectors to use a CAI...sound rather silly to me

he is probably telling you that to get the most out of an air intake that injectors will only help it with the gain of HP
more air
more fuel
it only makes senses but is not nessary to change the injectors just to put an cai on, but if your going to change the injectors you may aswell change the throttle body and it will make even more of a difference then through a nice walbro fuel pump and your set to go.
oh ya and chip you ecu nice little ride you will have

you will loose bottem end power, but the tiop end will be much better... I would say CAI is almost useless unless you have a bigger exhaust to let the air out... then fuel tuning for optimal gains... just injectors thats b/s cuz without some sort of fuel tuning like an afc or fpr, the fuel isnt gonna get to those injectors anyway... stock fuel pumps are good for about 30% more fuel i think(whish will likely burn it out, running it like that all the time) on to of stock fuel pressure settings, so an upgraded pump will be handy also...

well i'm buying a new exhaust now i'm debating between 2 1/4" and 2 1/2".. leaning towards 2 1/4".. but i am going to get a cai.. buy the way on a 1991 civic atch with a b16a girst gen.. what type of car do i get it for?,,... and if i upgrade injectors what dors fuel tuning involve? like i said is stock type r integra ones alright? or should i buy better aftermarket ones?
