Coilovers

I'm fairly new to this. I'd like to know wether or not it's safe to put only coilovers on your car rather than a full-out suspension kit. My friend recently lowered his 99 Integra by using only coilovers. Will this damage my car, or be unsafe to drive in? If so, is there any other ways to lower a car without spending 1 or 2 grand on a full suspension, I really can't afford that right now?

are you reffering to using coilover sleeves with your stock shocks?

depends what coilovers you use and their spring rate...i have stock shocks with skunk2 coilover sleeves...the ride is very stiff and jumpy, i dont like it at all..i plan on upgrading shocks soon

if you're on a tight budget get a set of Ground control coilovers (they use eibach springs) that should set you back $300...ride it out for a bit, some people live with the stock shocks and dont have any problems but the ride is really not up to its potential until you upgrade.

dont slam the car, leave maybe a finger gap or two with the wheel and body and you should be fine

Where can you get the Ground Control coilovers for $300, I'm interested in picking one up ASAP for my 97 EK.

Thanks.

$300usd maybe. They retail for $299usd for the off the shelf rates and $339usd for custom ratse. Although the off the shelf rates can be found for $240 on ebay. Add in duty, taxes and shipping and its over $300

You can lower your car with coil over sleeves just be sure they are reputable ones not ebay $10 ones. Skunk2, Omni and Ground-Control would be reptable, megan racing too. Otherwise to do it right is $600. Springs, shocks and alighment, min $600.

friend of mine just go them off ebay new..totaling $328

shop around, most places wanted $400-500 for the skunk2's i have!...found a place that wanted $300 installed..but ended up getting them used for $150..shop around

if you can find a set used and the sleeve is in good condition just get them..i hardly doubt any used springs are "damaged"
