Ummmm, why not jump the service connector and pull the code and then look it up to see what it means??

And it's free.

can you jump the connectors to get a code on the OBD2 systems? anyone figure that one out yet? i guess 2000's still used the OBD1.

Yes, connectors can be jumped on OBD II systems. OBD II was mandatory from the '96 Model Year for all vehicles so, that means the 2000 Civic (and all 6th gens) were OBD II. However, SCS shorting (jumping the connector) was still possible on the 6th gens.

Si-Guy,
I would think you car is still under the emissions warranty (~130,000km) so, why wouldn't you just take it to the dealer? They shouldn't charge you for it. If you are not sure, you can call. Also, if you can make it out to a meet, there might be someone who might be able to help you read it....

Mark

What is ULEV compliant? i am guessing that it is 2.1 OBD. i am still lokking for a manual that explains how to jump the system so it will reveal some codes.

Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle = ULEV, which means even tighter monitoring than OBDII
