Clutch Pedal Top Bolt??? Auto to Manual Help.

Hi.
As some of you may know I am in the process of going auto to manual on my 1.6EL. Today I began installing the clutch pedal, and it was a piece of cake, except for one bolt. It's the one going straight through the top of the pedal bracket, not the two going into the master cylinder. I believe it just screws into the chassis.

The problem is, how do I put a nut on the other end? It seems like one solid piece of metal so I can't reach around to the top. Do I need to take off the dash? Or to I drop the steering column?

Thanks for your time and help :)

the only time i took out a pedal assembly was when the cars dashes where off to have something done.
but swaps get done without the dash removed so i would say drop the column if you feel you can access it easier.

Can anyone else confirm that I need to drop the column?
