Clutch Master Cylinder Bleeding...

Ok I just installed a new m/c for my clutch and bleed the system with the hose on the bleeder screw into a bottle of brake fluid trick and my clutch feels like its at the bottom of the pedal. Before I started it was near the top. The clutch is new so is has to be air somewhere. I've been bleeding on the push of the pedal and closing the bleeder on the pull up of the pedal. What am I missing...

Thanks in advance...

how low to the bottom is the clutch grabbing? a new clutch generally grabs alot lower than the used one that you are used to...so in fact everything might be fine and dandy...where does the clutch fully engage? it should be like 3/4-1/2 way up when the clutch is fully engaged after initial bite

Clutch engagement is just higher than it was before new m/c went in. Will try again tomorrow. Just hard to do with one person. Will run hose up to clutch fluid res on the strut tower tomorrow and just bleed the **** out of it.

try a gravity bleed

just open up the bleeder screw and let it drain by gravity keep the resevoir topped up

could be alot of bubbles

did you bench bleed it before?

Working good now. Just ran a a hose from the bleeder back to the res and slowly pumped making sure not too run out. Might try new slave soon. Making weird noises when pressing clutch in.

Thanks for the advice guys...

grease it

if it makes a squeek sound put some grease where the end of the slave comes in contact with the arm on the tranny
