Clutch Grabbing??

Hey guys i notice in 1st gear that when i release the clutch i get some vibration sometimes, but it aslo happens in other gears. just to let you know this is my first Hydro tranny, as all the cars i've previouly had were cable. To make more sense, sometimes when i let off in first it feels like the clutch is grabbing a releasing (slipping?). sometimes its ok. not sure if its the clutch, possibly a loose tranny or engine mount?? I also get a "squeeling" noise if i down shift and just release the clutch, it almost sounds like a belt is slipping. I check the fluid and its all topped up. My cousin has the same car and says the clutch lets off higher then his car. Not too sure what it is, but thought i'd throw out the question to see if anyones had this problem. Thanks in advance.

it's called clutch chatter, a lotta hondas in cold weather tend to do it. as for WHERE your clutch releases, flush and bleed the fluid thats in the clutch master cylinder.

for clutch chatter, only thing you can do is replace the clutch and make sure you resurface the flywheel.

on the front of the tranny, where the hard line plumbs into tranny, you will see a rubber bootie sorta thing, and you will see a bleeder nipple there too, that's the one. attach a mightyvac hand vacuum pump to the nipple, open the nipple, and start sucking fluid, while adding fresh fluid into the clutch master cylinder (use DOT3 brake fluid and a funnel to prevent spills, it's a tough location).

check clutch adjustment check master and slave for oil on boot/shaft

sounds like a smoked clutch or a puck clutch maybe...can't really tell from what you describe

you have to check the master and slave then adjust then check if clutch is slipping etc...what clutch do you have...?
