Clutch & flywheel

Clutch & flywheel

Im gonna upgrade to an exedy clutch, just wondering if its a good idea to change the flywheel?

That really depends on what your using the car for: Street, drag racing, autoX and so forth.

Stock flywheel is much better for everyday driveability due to the inertia it creates as compared to a lightweight flywheel allowing more progressive clutch actuation. Read: smoother and easier to drive.

The other factor in this is the clutch type. Friction Material, Sprung/Non-Sprung hub, Clamping Force etc etc. Ceramic clutches are naturally harder on flywheels than an organic clutch.

If your changing the clutch, get the flywheel machined if your not going to replace it. That should go without saying.
