Clutch Fluid
 

Hey I just noticed after a few months that my clutch was squeaking. Today I filled the clutch fluid up and the squeak is gone now. I was wondering if clutch fluid being "used up" may hint at another problem such as a wearing clutch or something like that?

Yeah, it was the same thing. I checked a service manual and it did say to grease the spring there. I used wheel bearing grease if anyone else wants to know.

Np, and I almost forgot about my second question.

This might not make sense but I think the clutch fluid is being used up because of a wearing or worn OEM clutch that's reaching the end of it's life. Does that sound reasonable to presume? I did check for leaks under the clutch pedal assebly and around the clutch (slave?) cylinder and there was no sign of leaking fluid.

no, the leak is independent of the clutch. the hydraulic system stops at the slave cylinder, from there on it's mechanical linkage that operates the clutch. so a worn clutch does not cause fluid loss. check your lines, then remove the slave cylinder and slide it apart, if there is fluid in the boot, that's where you're losing it. my buddy just had this problem, he lost all his fluid and there was no leaks.... I found all the fluid in the rubber boot that covers the slave linkage.
