Clutch engagement adjustment?

Well my clutch on my 91 CX has finally reached the point that its slipping whenever i accelerate hard (passing cars and while I'm on onramps).
Now this could be that the clutch disc has been totally worn out, or the release bearing grease has been pushed out onto the clutch disc or there may be tranny fluid getting in there some how causing the disc to slip.

I took a brief look around the tranny to see if there were any leaks but could not see any so i'm guessing its just a worn clutch disc. I'm going to be pulling the transmission out soon to get a better look at what the problem is, and to possibly replace the whole clutch assembly. Before I do that i just wanted to know if there is an adjustment to change the engagement point if that would help any?.. The clutch engages pretty far up and there seems to be little to no freeplay?

any assistance would be appreciated.

you can adjust the cable, but if its slipping while you're driving chances are the clutch is badly worn.
Be sure to resurface the flywheel when replacing your clutch.

no, there is just the cable adjustment to adjust the freeplay in the clutch. other than that, the clutch is due for replacement.

It's just what these two said..

grab a clutch kit and machine the flywheel. When you remove the pressure plate check for heat spots, scoures, check the friction disc thickness, and check the flywheel as well. One of those or a combination of them should be your cause

mine did what your talking about.. when i saw the clutch and pressure plate it was funny.. the rivets made grooves in the pressure plate. its not really safe to drive a car like that.. if you go to turn on to a road and your clutch is slipping someone might hit you.

thats right, i guess i should have made myself a little more clear in my post.
When i changed the clutch in my car it was so bad that the rivets scored the crap out of the flywheel, i even had to balance the flywheel when i did mine, it was that bad....but mine wasn't slipping while i was driving. I can only imagine the condition of his clutch.

thanks for the replies....this confirms what i suspected.
i'd be surprised if my car could produce 60 ft/lbs of torque.
I'll be replacing the clutch assembly on the weekend....any places where i could get the flywheel machined?
