umm why do u want to clean the inside of the header, as soon as you clean the carbon off it will come back next startup of the engine, your wasting your time

headders are very hard to clean, cuz most of the dirtyness you are seeing is discolouration from the intense heat... But the best you will be able to do, is rub it down with some Autosol (buy it at canadian tire) looks like a black/gold tube of toothpaste... Its a fine grit metal polish, works wonders on other stuff to, like badges ect...

We use it on airplane rocker covers, and propeller hubs ect...so it wont have any reaction with the heat...just make sure you have it wiped down really well before starting the engine to avoid baking it on, and only apply it when the headder is cold...

Also if you have a D series engine, take some fine grit sandpaper sand down your valve cover, then rub the autosol on/off, it takes a few hours and allot of elbo greese but the end result is a polished valvecover looks very nice

Cuz My ECU was chipped, the motor was burning EXTREMLY RICH!
Also when i bought these headers they were used for a Drag car (used and abused pretty bad??) so i just wanted to flush out all thar carbon crap from the inner walls of the header. If it REALLY doesn't make a diff then forget it. i just like things cleaned! they tend to run better!! ie. wash ur car! feels like u gained 5hp sometimes. LOL

you can use a chumney sweep type brush, or a bottle brush if you are concerned about it El_LoCo... and try kerosine for solvent. Wear gloves...
