Cleaning fuel injectors
How do I clean my fuel injectors? I don't want to put a fuel injector cleaner in my gas tank...I want to manually clean these....
anyone know how? car is a 1999 Si |
sorry dood, i think injector cleaner in your gas tank is probably your best bet.
take them out and bring them to a shop and get them cleaned
there is a guy who sonicly cleans them on denison in markham...i have used them before...dals fuel injection i believe...his name is giles but thats all i remember...
short of taking them out and soaking them in full concentration injector cleaner for like a week... I think it's gonna have to be professional service. also, even soaking them won't really do very much cuz they need to cycle in order for the pin to get cleaned up.

Just out of curiosity whats wrong with injector cleaner in the tank??
it doesnt do a whole lot...i believe when dals does it they are cleaned and calibrated and you even get a sheet with the injector before and after flow numbers...well worth the money in my oppinion.
Euro Drive in burlington does the same thing.
I was told he can even increase the flow rating of certain injectors, meaning he can make 240cc injectors flow like 340cc's (or something like that, not too sure how much he can increase the flow, or if that even applies to honda injectors). But sonically cleaning them and balancing them is definately worth the money, its basically returning them to like-new condition, without having to dish out the cash for new injectors. They will clean them and make sure they all flow within 1-2% of each other, which is really important IMO. |
