Civic SHort SHifter Question

i was going to purchanse a short throw shifter for my 91 civic and pplz are telling me that wen i put it into 5th gear it will hit my exhaust is there true???

i believe this only happens when you have aftermarket piping put on, the bigger diameter of the pipe causes it to interfere with the shift linkage, but i'm not a 100% on that can someone else shed some more light on this

i got a 2 1/2 inch diamater mid pipe ?? will that interfere

well i have 2 1/4 piping and a short throw in my eg coupe and have never had a problem....tons of room.

Not trying to jack the thread but I was wondering what one woud be best for my 92 Si?
I was thinking of the TWM Performance FS series one, Dose anyone have one?
How is it?

I think the interference happens only if a resonator is located right there because those are bigger in diameter then the piping

I used to have a TWM Performance Classic series shifter.. the FS is way to short.

I loved the damn thing, but sold it for a Skunk2 dual bend GSR shifter... worst mistake...

Did you see the FS and the Classic side by side?
Is the FS realy too short?
I just think it would be way kewl that short?

If you want it to be practical and look good get the Classic..

If you want it just to look good get the FS (which IMO is way to short)

i have a short shifter and 2 1/4 inch piping...it doesnt hit when im in fifth but before i got a new cat put on it used to vibrate the shifter when in neutral
