what type of lightbulbs do you use? ... just kidding
how much of a budget do you have to work with?...also, how did you get the 150hp you have right now?

do some head work to it like shaving the head, cam gears advance the timing, chip your computer grab a set of headers if you don't already have it and spray it with a 50 shot and you should hit over 220hp, if your motor is 150 hp right now

b16a1 is 160 hp but to get to 220? to the fly or to the wheels?
you'll be looking into getting your bottom end rebuilt, head work done as well as pretty much all the bolt on's u can think of. compression will have to be brought up a little bit since you'll be still NA.

You will not be able to get a 1.6block to 220whp if you stay n/a. You may want to consider alternate blocks.

that's like saying a 2.0L engine wont be able to make 130hp

to the crx owner: u have a b16 right? B16A1. i can get u a spoon or mugen chip for ur ecu for 50 bucks. send me a pm and let me know. that has different fuel mapping and will run richer at high rpms and takes out the fuel cut. with that u can go with wild cams and rev to 9000rpm. obviously u will need a whole entire new valve train. means u need retainers, springs and possibly new valve seals if u want to rev so high constantly. along with that u will want to get a valve job done(3 or 5 doesnt matter, but i dont see the advantage of doing a 5 over a 3). u dont necessarily have to shave the head to get higher compression...if ur gonna build up ur block anyways u may as well get some higher comp pistons. shot peen ur crank and run a good header...take out the cat and u have POWER. obviously u will need a vafc and cam gears for further tuning.

You wanna go wild?... resleeve to 86 mm... swap the crank out for a b17A crank - this will get your displacement to around 1.9-2.0L while still maintaining a nice r/s ratio (1.62 to 1.68 i believe) ...and do a full rebuild on eveything else, like what Shaun mentioned, the key is in the cams and in compression.. the higher the c.r. the better chance you have of hitting 220 but don't go overboard. 12.5:1 is pushing it. as for cams you need to consider Toda B's, Jun 3's, Skunk 3's and the like..wilder cams will give you more power but will require more tuning time .. ITR cams will not get you to where 220whp.... ... this will cost you major coin but will get you to where you wnat... estimated cost: $10,000 at the very least.

however for less money you could buy a b20 and start at 2.0L off the bat. personally i would rather start with a B20.

OMG! EDM CRX!
Like whoa!

Why do you want to stay n/a? I mean with a turbo you'd easily hit 220hp. Your call though. Theres nothing I can suggest that hasn't already been said here.
You COULD get it there but its gonna be pricey as Jugglez pretty much pointed out.

The EDM Civic/CRX b16's are only 150hp (something to do with emissions) unlike the JDM which are 160hp. I have the Dutch brochure but I have no way to post it.

Wanna sell me the SiR spoiler? j/k
