- Check Engine Light!!! GRR - HELP PLZ
Had a B18C swapped into my EK Hatch.
Run was running, had some initial problems such as exhaust and power steering, but that was fixed. There is one single problem. Intermittantly my Check engine light comes on! It seems as though it happens when its raining like hell outside. When the check engine light comes on, the car just gets louder, grumbles, and since I am driving at like 80-100km/h the car like shifts, it feels like the car becomes a shadow of its former self, like it has down syndrome. Once it starts with the Check Engine light it will go off and on, sometimes consecutively like every 3 seconds.. I have had this car looked at, and the installer is telling me its all in my head, now I am going to video tape it, and then go APE. Any idea which sensor would cause such a drastic problem? I do not mind changing some sensors, to put some new ones in to avoid this hassle. Anyone ever experience this? real1st |
well if it only happens when it rains I can think of a couple of things( though I'm a big newb)
1) something electrical, maybe one of the sensors is cracked or has a brake in the wire near the base and is shorting with wet weather, or maybe the moisture in the air is getting into your distributer if it has a crack 2) cai sucking up too much water, |
how about checking the code?

- Check the code you say?
By the time I get somewhere to check, the engine light turns off. What is the easiest way to check the code, the paper clip thing? Any tips on checking it fast? xrealx |
doesnt matter, its still stored.
yes the paper clip or piece of wire in the service port above the ecu |
The guy at KSRD says he can't check it. Says it doesnt stay.
I got my car back today, only to find out, it was damaged at the shop. Now they are saying it "Was there before". What a load of crap. I am not going to let this go. Screw it. xrealx |
