"Check Engine Light" codes

I am trying to find the blue connector described in the sticky about CEL in this forum. Can anyone help?

I found the ECU(I think it's ECU) and the ASB control module on top of it, looked everywhere around it , but no sign of the blue connector, or any connector for that matter.

I've got a '97 EX (sedan).

Can anyone please help?

thanks!

It's either blue or green. Follow the wiring from the ECU up towards the glove box. Look in that general area. And there are only 2 wires in that socket.

thanks dude, that makes it a little easier ;-)

btw, is it supposed to be pluged into something, or is it supposed to be just hanging there? The article in the sticky was not clear on this.

'cause when I looked I couldn't find any connectors that are just hanging loose.

thanks !!!

From what I know it's suppose to be hanging loosely or it might be tucked away.

I think I found the damn thing !!!

it is the blue connector, that looks exactly like on the pic. in the "Check Engine Light" sticky, even the wires are of the same colour.

why I couldn't find it b4, is because the damn thing is pluged into a green rubber socket and was tugged far away, so it looked as if it's not loose ... but the rubber socket has no wires coming out of it .... I guess it's just protection, so that if the connector touches the metal somehow it doesn't short it ...

just looking for some wires now to see if I can get the error code out of the damn thing !!!

thanx for your help guys !!!

Ok!

the codes are 71 and 73, which are "sylynder 1 misfire" and "sylinder 3 misfire".

The firing order for my engine is 1-3-2-4.

What could be wrong ???
distributor cap? spark plugs ?

thanks
