Check engine light is on

I have a JDM b16a2 in my 1.6EL, i let my buddy drive the car, he sees some gino in a golf, n he decides to race the guy....afta a while, my check engine lite comes on, we check out the fluids, n i was low on oil, so i top it off....but now the check engine lite is still on, i took out the battery for a few days to see if it would go away, but afta 20min of drivin, it come bak....any1 got any suggestions? the car has been stored the whole winter, n it hasnt gotten an oil change since....could there be a chance my dumb buddy ****ed somethin up in my motor while rippin the **** out of it? Or can the ECu be reseted somehow? thx for any input

when you disconnected the battery you reset the ECU.

What code is the ECU throwing?

I dun have the reader, but i will get the shop to check it out once my exam is over.....the car sounds n runs fine....but i have no clue wat could be happenin....Would being low on oil/an extremly old air filter cause the lite to appear?

no oil would cause the oil light to come on.. check engine is problems mechanically.. could be somethign stupid like an o2

u gotta pay to play, do a search and u will find that u can find what code you are throwing with a simple paperclip. Nobody will help you unless you help yourself

yea nect 2 the ecu there is a little blue conektor join the wires together and turn the key 2 the on setting just be4 u turn the car over


the long flashes are worth 10 and short ones are 1

so long long flash flash flash wil be 23 with is knock senswor


the codes are in the hains manual

and i'd like to kno, do i juss turn it to the 2nd position n the lites start flashin? or is there somethin i must do to trick it?

no u just turn it to the 2nd position thats it
as long as u have the paperclip in good it wil statr 2 flash put the paperclip in the 2 holes in the blue plug nr the ecu and thats it
