cheap place for timing belt & water pump??

some sugeestions would be great!

Also, I read somewhere in the forum (can't find it anymore) that this can be done at home easily... wondering if this is true and if so, anyone wanna lend a hand?

A friend of mine had his done at a place in Scarborough - Dawnsun Automotive Service (I believe in McCowan and Steeles area. Cost (parts and labour) before taxes was $365. That's about $100 less than my Honda dealer. Phone # is 416-321-1596.

I got my timing belt and water pump done @ Tang's Auto
on old kennedy road, just north of steeles.
$280 total ( cash ).

It's the cheapest place I found.

Re: cheap place for timing belt & water pump??

I considered doing this job myself...
If you're handy, it should be too hard... no special tools are required ( according to my Haynes book ), however, garages quote the job based on 4 hours ... So expect the job to take twice as long as it takes a professional... basically expect to spend the whole day working on it!

In the end, I decided it wasn't worth my time, so I took it to the garage... see post above for the place I took it to.
