Changing the gas filter??

Just wondering if anyone has changed their own gas filter before?
Any ideas or suggestions?

yeah.... dont' smoke while you're doing it

what's the question, it's pretty simple. Need two wrenches (I forget the size) and a 10mm socket with an extenison for the firewall bracket.

If you were a paid member you could get the OEM Honda part for cost.

Very easy to do but if your a weak *** make someone do it b/c when you reinstall it the bolts have to be really really tight or fuel will slip out and spray out.

Yup nothing but OEM for me. Do I have to open the gas cap first?

Take off the the top and bottom bolt on the fuel filter(gas will spill a bit), then take off the three 10mm bolts holding the bracket on the firewall. Then take off the 10mm bolt holding the filter on the bracket.

Oh yeah... remove fuel pump fuse, and attempt to start the vehicle... this should purge the lines to minimize spillage of gasoline.

taking the gas cap off relieves the pressure too....put something underneath the filter to soak up the rest.

i'd use some liquid wrench to make things easier.

about 35 bux @ honda for fuel filter.

Finally had time to do the filter. The hardest part was taking out that round banjo bolt. The car runs good now.

I'll be replacing my fuel filter soon too. Does anyone know who sells banjo bolt sockets?

Looks like the bottom bolt is 14mm and the top is at least 16 or 17mm.

Do you really need to remove the bracket that attaches to the firewall as suggested by kwikb16a2? I don't see the point unless it makes it easier to remove the strap attaching the filter to the bracket. Anybody know?
