hey guys.. i know.. this has probably already been asked.. but i did a search and couldn't find it.. so here it is again.. can anyone give me detailed info on how to change brake pads on a 99SI?? i've been meaning to try to change the brake pads myself on my accord but never got around to it.. and now that i have my civic.. i couldn't experiment with the accord before i sold it.. i shoulda though.. well can anyone help me out that would be great.

i got scared to change them because the guy at canadian tire told me i have to becareful about the springs or somthing.. so thats why i never chnaged them.. well please help me out thanks guys..

never listen to a dude from Canadian tire .. for the front pads there are no springs.... I can help you out for 50 bucks for the lesson.... you'll never have to ask someone to change your pads after...

super easy...make sure you get some sythetic lube from CT for yo sliders! and some anti-sieze

Springs? He must be thinking of the rear drums or something. Pads are super easy, take off your wheels, then its like 1-2 bolts to swing the caliper outta the way, just make sure you get the right pads because there are a lot of civic variations.

okay.. thanks guys.. but where do you apply the lub and the anti sieze?

on the sliders...you'll take out the pads, then you'll see small metal sliders that the pads sit on...

take a wire brush (like $5 from CT, in the welding section) to them and clean them up, till there shinny again , then apply the lube...anti-sieze on all the bolts that you took out, the caliper piston, and the back plate of the pads

thanks guys.. the brake pads installation was sucessful.. my brakes don't squeak anymore.
