Should be pretty simple and straight forwar. You may have to remove the drive shaft to get it out though. Don't remeber for sure. Good luck!!

Pull the end from the spindle as hard as you can is the best method lol

-remove the 32mm nut from the driveshaft at the spindle
-separate the lower ball joint
-slide drivshaft out of the spindle
-I use a pry bar on the inner joint to pop it out from the tranny

Just don't pull.

the bracket might be seized since your car is almost 10 years old, if it is then you are screwed. mine was and i tried every trick in the book to take it off but i had to resort to cutting the damn thing off. not sure how it is on a 6th gen but i can't imagine it being that different from a 5th gen. good luck and don't drive around on a bad alternator! i learned that the hard way.

i did this about a month and a half ago on my 96 civic and let me tell you it was a bitch.
after taking off the top bolts.
i tried to take the bottom bolt to remove the bracket.
unfortunately the bolt was bent and seized even with an airgun it was hard to take it off.
i had to torch the mother ****er and then cut out the bolt.

took me about 2 and a half hours to do.
imo if you can take it to a mechanic pay him like 30 bucks to take it off and have it done with.
