CEL CODE help x5
hey guys, new to site, honda-tech is giving me no answers. Hope you guys can. :canada:
I installed a 98 b18c1 obd2 into my 93 civic cx obd2 p72 Ecu and 98 gsr harness. Car is running rich, jolts when i shift. I am NOT driving the car, just sitting in my driveway. Over the past month i couldn't figure out what is wrong with the car. Car starts but these appear. CEL CODES 3 - map sensor - i have switched the throttle sensor plug around with this sensor, bought a new Map sensor and the code is still coming up. 22 - Vtec pressure valve - i do not have vtec currently hooked up yet. 54 - CKF - crank fluctuation sensor - ????? 65 - Secondary o2 sensor (heater wires) - I connected the GSR secondary o2 sensor into my EG. Ran it as follows. Green wire (signal wire) = D13 White wire (sensor wire) = D14 1 Black wire (heater wire) = A6 1 Black wire (heater wire) = A11 -----As stated on ff-squad.com------ I don't know to try and run one black wire to my battery or where a 12V output is.? I don't know where. 91 - Fuel Tank pressure sensor - This one is new and came up today while checking CEL. I just need my car back up and running. I don't know what else i can do to get rid of the map sensor and to fix my secondary o2. New problems keep arising and running low on $. If anyone can help me out And or give me opinions on how to do something different... much appreciated. |
just out of curiosity, why did you choose to use a 98 GSR harness in your 93 civic?
You basically have the EASIEST car to do a swap in. I would have just re-used the stock 93 civic wiring harness, add the wires for vtec, knock sensor and IAB's, changed the alternator plug to the OBD2 style 4-wire square plug, changed the dizzy plug to the big square OBD2 plug and re-used your stock injectors (they're 240cc like the GSR ones) then either got an obd1 P72 ecu or chipped and modified your stock ECU and run a GSR program (you won't have to wire up the knock sensor if you do this and you can eliminate the vtec pressure switch) If you do what I mentioned above this will solve your code 54, 65 and 91 at once. This is b/c the OBD1 ecus don't use a CKF sensor, secondary o2 sensor or fuel tank pressure sensor. Whenever doing a swap, regardless of what engine into what car, I ALWAYS reuse the stock wiring harness and modify it to fit whatever engine is going in. |
I thought it was plug n play according to ppl online. Which for the most part it was wit the stock Dseries harness.
I Didn't realize about the secondary o2 sensor and such until i started reading more online that this problem occurs with obd2 engines and obd1 cars. That was after that ppl told me about that i needed to install that. |

I'll see what i can do money wise.. Maybe i can get my hands on a obd1 chipped ecu and jumper off ebay. and just convert the rest..Just hope my buddy didn't steal my harness

edit - Any idea with the map sensor? i had no CEL in the GSR integra parts car before i swapped motors out. And keep getting this error in my civic. Would i need the civic mapsensor connected as well? |
ya try the civic map sensor, its the same thing.
|
With my obd2 computer and obd1 car, wondering if i can just splice the Secondary O2 sensor into my o2 sensor. ?
