ya i'd agree... 9 and 15 ...

if that's how it's blinking then that's what it is... try resetting your ECU (disconnect the battery for like 1 min and then reconnect it) and then start the engine again to see if the codes return...

OK just ran the codes again.. its 9 FAST long pause
1 LONG no pause then a quick 5 so it does seem like

a 9 & a 15... anyone give me advice on these codes?

goose****.. mike just called me and we tried it your way its definately a 9 and a 15

9 is a CYP-Cylinder Sensor

15 is a Ignition Output Signal... (This maybe why my car just shuts off)

stuff just breaks for no reason, outta the blue like this. Thats what cars do.
If the cars running ok and it doesn't misfire and turn itself off randomly than sure. I mean its only a no-spark situation, its not like the engine will blow up. It just won't run. Engines need 3 things to run, air, fuel, spark. If 1 of the 3 isn't present, the engine will not run or will run very poorly.
But CEL's are there for a reason, and its cool that we don't need to bring the car in to get scanned for a diagnostic fee.

how much time would it take to just swap the two and see if it throws any codes... are we talking whole dizzy here? cap and rotor?

it would take 20 minutes to swap dizzys. Its 3 12mm bolts, a connector (or 2) and the 4 plug wires.
Make sure to use a timing light to make sure the base timing is correct. And make a mark on your dizzy (where the top bolt is) before you remove it so you can line the dizzy back up afterwards so you'll know that its in there like it was before.

You cant **** up puting that distributer in, its notched, it can only go in 1 way. If you manage to put it in backwards, turn around, walk to the antenna and sit on it.

yea, a dizzy will only fit properly the 1 way. But to make sure you try to get the ignition timing set back to where it was before you removed it, make a line, b/c as you rotate the dizzy (forward or back) you are advancing/retarding the ignition timing. The only way to really set the timing is with a timing light. Without one, make a mark, so you can line the dizzy back up with how it was before.
